Frequently Asked Questions

Is this training course for everyone? Everyone from a fairly new rider with at least 1,000 miles of experience to those that have been riding for over 20 years will see significant gains in their knowledge, skills, and confidence by the end of this class. Remember, the size and strength of the rider has no bearing on one’s ability to learn and even master these techniques. Everyone can learn to Ride Like A Pro. After taking our class, people tell us all the time, “I didn’t know what I didn’t know and I’m so glad I took this class.”

How then does it compare to the MSF or Riders Edge Classes? This class focuses on techniques used by Motor Officers in order to maintain complete control of their motorcycles, while riding at slow speeds, making tight U-turns, and other maneuvers. In addition, students receive valuable information and advanced skill exercises involving the proper techniques for counter steering, threshold breaking and much more.

What can I do to protect my motorcycle during class?  If your bike did not come with engine guards, we strongly recommend having a set installed. You’re certainly welcome to attend the class without them, but you need to know that engine guards can help you avoid costly repairs and even personal injury in a crash or tip over. Assuming you already have a set on your bike, you’ll want to cover the lowest portion of the front and rear bars with a suitable material. You should only need a small section of garden hose secured in place over the lowest portion of the bars to aid against scratches, if the bike goes down.  Finally, some riders will feel more comfortable removing the saddle bags and even the front lower fairings before class.

In addition to my motorcycle, what else will I need the day of class? Each student will be required to wear the proper safety apparel, including a DOT-approved motorcycle helmet, sturdy riding jacket and trousers, over the ankle boots, full fingered gloves, and eye protection. It’s important to stay well hydrated too, so bring bottled water. Fruit or a couple of energy bars will help to keep your energy levels up throughout the day.

Do you offer group discounts? Yes, we do offer a discount to groups with a minimum of 10 students. Contact us for more information about your group and to reserve your class date today.

Do you travel to other locations to teach the class? Yes we do. In fact, it can often be cheaper for us to bring the “Ride Like A Pro Training Program” to your group and location than to bring the group here. Individual expenses for travel, hotels, meals and so on, can add up quickly. As a result, we’ve found that traveling to various groups throughout Maryland, Virginia, and Delaware can actually save each student money and makes more sense. Contact us today to learn more and to schedule a class date for your group at your location.

What if it rains on the day of my class? In the event of rain, class will be held as scheduled. So be sure to pack your rain gear, towels, and a complete change of clothes and shoes. In the event conditions include sustained heavy rain, high winds, and/or lightening, the instructor may delay the class for a period of time or cancel the class altogether, opting to reschedule (see below).

What if the class is canceled?  If it becomes necessary to cancel a class, we will make every effort to accommodate each student as best as possible. A rain date for the class will be determined. If a student is unable to make the rain date chosen, the student may elect to register for another class at a later date or request and receive a full refund.

Will I receive a certificate upon completing the course? Yes, each student will receive a “Certificate Of Completion” upon completing this class. Insurance companies sometimes offer reduced premiums for continuing education.
